How old is this building?

My family and I live in a renovated farm building and are trying to piece together its history.

Here are the details we have so far:

Location: The farm is officially in Northumberland, but it is located on the boundary with County Durham, which is the River Derwent. We have a Durham postcode.
Name: The property is now called “Eddisbridge Farm North,” but we believe it was originally known simply as “Eddisbridge Farm.”
Features: There are visible remnants of what we believe to be a gin gang (horse engine house) on the property.
Potential Links: We have heard anecdotal talk that the farm may have once been part of the historic Axwell Hall estate.

Any information, historical records, old maps, or even pointers on where we could search next would be hugely appreciated.

We have been working with TWDA for a number of years, initially as a start up, when Terry worked in partnership with us to design the brand and logo for our holiday property business. He then built our website and taught me how to manage certain elements myself. He was always on hand, however, to help when I couldn't understand what to do or to undo a mistake! He was able to to help connect our website to third party diaries and payment systems to ensure everything worked.

As our business has expanded TWDA have been able to work with us to add further properties and web pages, and more recently more build specific branding and logos we have needed. A very talented, responsive and local company that we are so glad we found!
